Velma Showrunner Wants to Do a Harley Quinn Crossover (Exclusive)

Fans may one day see a movie crossover of Mindy Kaling with Harley Quinn. The first trailer for HBO Max’s adult animated comedy was released yesterday to coincide with his panel at New York Comic Con. It starred Mindy Kaling voicing Velma Dinkley, and featured a lot of comedy and humor that would be blended with adult themes like blood in the animated project. Another HBO Max animated series that shares much of the same DNA as Velma Harley Quinn. if film Turning into a hit for HBO Max, show maker Charlie Grundy won’t be shy about trying to intersect both shows at some point in the future.

ComicBook.com’s Chris Killian spoke to Velma’s Mindy Kaling and Charlie Grande at New York Comic Con. Kilian raised the topic of a film/Harley Quinn Crossover, similar to how Scooby-Doo crosses with other shows and celebrities. To his credit, Grande was definitely excited about the prospect of a Velma and Harley Quinn crossover.

“If this is a success or really launches, there will definitely be talks about doing something,” Charlie Grande told ComicBook.com. “Again, this honors the original show, and we want to honor the original Scooby as much as we can. So this is baked into the DNA of the original. So we’ll look for ways to do that.”

While fans wait for this big HBO Max crossover, we also received news on Friday that Harley Quinn’s Valentine’s Day show will air in February 2023.
